CAD Planning Technician

 

Cygnus has an opening in its Engineering/Manufacturing Planning Department to develop detailed manufacturing/fabrication plans for their aerospace sheet metal and machine parts and assemblies. This entails writing step by step work order instructions to fabricate and assemble an array of complex small to medium size parts and assemblies, along with developing CAD and solid model plots to fully define all part features and dimensions.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Write detailed work order instructions for manufacturing plans.
  • Use and read various blueprints, mylars, cad plots, specifications and other engineering documents.
  • Conceptualize objects in a three dimensional reference plane.
  • Extract all pertinent drawing views, notes, parts and materials.
  • Check all associated specifications for requirements.
  • Generate solid model geometry and / or CAD plots, using commercial software to fully define all necessary features and dimensions.

Position requires Specialized Education/Experience/ Skills and/or Knowledge:

  • High School education or equivalent with reasonable math skills
  • Handwriting must be clear and legible.
  • Computer skills: Must be computer code literate, able to manipulate data, use various programs, understand software systems and procedures.
  • Able to read, follow and understand blue prints, cad plots, solid model geometry and various customer specification requirements.
  • Accurate with attention to detail.
  • Able to read, comprehend and follow detailed instructions.
  • Able to troubleshoot and communicate will with others.
  • Regular attendance as scheduled.

This is a full- time day shift position working 6am - 2:30pm or 7am - 3:30pm M-F

Position Summary:
The employee receives and completes Requests for Quotes/Proposals in a timely and organized manner. The employee provides an estimate of time and cost to the buyers for the manufacture of parts to their specifications .
Primary Duties and Responsibilities :
  • Receive Requests for Quotes.
  • Complete quotes in a timely manner.
  • Submit quotes to customers on a timely basis.
  • Maintain RFQ and Submitted Pricing Logs.
  • Maintain good working relationships with buyers and suppliers.
  • Work with other departments in obtaining times and information regarding work requirements.
Must have ability to read blueprints and calculate measurements. Experience bidding in manufacturing preferred.

Cygnus is a high quality precision sheet metal and machine parts manufacturing company looking for an experienced Quality Deputy Manager to primarily facilitate Cygnus’s entry into the medical devices and instrumentation industry. The Quality Deputy Manager, in coordination with the Quality Manager, is responsible for the overall development and maintenance of an ISO13485, FDA Regulated (including GMP’S) quality management system. The job involves a high degree of personal interpretation, judgment, and decision making, and requires the employee to interface with co-workers, suppliers, and customers.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Applicant must have experience in the Medical Device and Instrumentations Industry.
  • Develop, implement, communicate, train, maintain, and audit the company’s quality systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Review and approve Quality Department procedures to match customer requirements.
  • Approve changes to inspection and test equipment and methods
  • Lead the investigation of nonconformance’s charged to the Quality Department
  • Audit the work of inspectors to verify their effectiveness
  • Assign department personnel to write and maintain work instructions
  • Exercise fiscal responsibility through making cost effective purchasing decisions
  • Plan, prioritize, coordinate, and schedule departmental work flow including: Internal Audits, Purchase Order Approvals, Calibration, Training, Corrective Action System, and Inspections.
  • Be able to read, understand and learn customer specifications, Cygnus operating procedures, and work order instructions to certify part Quality Inspection and acceptance.
Typical Benefits Package:
  • This is a full-time position. Day shift: 7am -3:30pm. Night Shift: 2:00pm – 10:30pm. Mon – Fri.

Qualifications: Education, Experience, Special Skills and Knowledge
Education – High School graduate or equivalent. Technical college degree preferred.
Specialized Skills or Knowledge
  • Requires excellent attention to detail and accuracy for medical Industry requirements.
  • Must have 3 years of experience in medical devices and instrumentation quality management systems and be familiar with ISO 13485; ISO14971; and FDA/CFR 820
  • Mechanical aptitude and spatial cognizance to understand and utilize mechanical drawings, blueprints, specifications and quality requirements.
